How browser storage, contact requests and external services work when you use Hotel5only.
Your saved hotels
Your selection is stored in local storage in this browser. It is not synchronised to an account. Remove hotels using the heart button or clear this website’s browser storage.
Audience measurement
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that tell one browser from another for up to two years. Your browser sends Google the pages you view, the page you came from and device and browser information, along with your IP address. We do not send your saved hotels or contact messages to Google Analytics. You can delete or block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Map services
Opening the interactive map requests tiles from OpenStreetMap. This necessarily sends connection information, including your IP address, to the tile provider. The destination list remains available without using the map.
Google Maps hotel photos
When a Google Maps hotel photo gallery is enabled, it loads automatically as it approaches your screen. Your browser requests the photos and contributor profile pictures directly from Google, which receives your IP address and browser information. Hotel5only requests the photo details through its server; we do not send your saved hotels or contact messages with these requests. Google’s use of this information is governed by its Privacy Policy, incorporated here for these services.
Expedia affiliate links
Choosing an Expedia affiliate link takes you to Expedia with an affiliate identifier. Expedia handles searches and bookings under its own terms and privacy policy. While the date form is a preview, your selected dates stay on the current page: they are not stored or sent to Expedia. Where a connected Expedia date-search form is available, it loads only after you select “Choose dates”. Loading it sends connection information, including your IP address and browser information, to Expedia; destinations and dates entered into the form are handled by Expedia. The direct affiliate link remains available without loading the form.
Contact requests
If the contact service is enabled, the name, email address and message you submit are stored for the team to handle your request. They are not added to a mailing list.
Administration
The administration area uses a secure session cookie. The application is hosted on our dedicated VPS, with Cloudflare handling encrypted delivery. Use the contact form for privacy enquiries or deletion requests. Contact messages are retained only while they are needed to handle your request.
