How to use the five-star hotel directory
Search for a name or explore a place
If you already have a hotel in mind, search for its name and check the address on the result. If your plans are still open, begin with a country, town or destination collection. Our first published collection comes from France’s official classification register. Each profile brings the same core fields together, so you can compare the identity and scale of the properties on your shortlist.
Use the filters to answer a specific question
Browse by hotel name when looking for a particular property, or sort by registered room count to compare hotel sizes. Sorting by classification date changes the order of the records; it is not a ranking of service or quality. The destination map offers another way to find a place, with municipality markers clearly separated from verified hotel coordinates.
Keep the record and the booking offer together
Save interesting profiles to your selection in this browser, then open the hotel’s official website where a link is available. Compare the room category and complete offer for your dates. Our journal explains the difference between classifications, awards and reviews, and helps you check location, transport and booking details. The directory does not quote live prices or guarantee availability.
Questions before you book
What makes a hotel eligible for this directory?
For the current French collection, we select tourism hotels listed with five stars in the Atout France source register. A guest review score alone does not qualify a hotel. The source and dates appear on each profile.
Does the order of hotels indicate a recommendation?
No. The directory can be sorted by name, room count or classification date. These are browsing tools, not editorial ratings, guest review scores or a best-hotel ranking.
