L'Armancette stands in the village of Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, on the heights of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in the French Alps, facing the Mont-Blanc massif. The MICHELIN Guide has given it one MICHELIN Key, and its gastronomic restaurant, La Table d'Armante, has been awarded one Michelin star. Many of the rooms are designed for families, and the spa looks out on the Dômes de Miage.

Why it stands out

  • Facing the Mont-Blanc massif from the heights of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains
  • Gastronomic restaurant La Table d'Armante, newly awarded a Michelin star
  • Duplex family rooms of 47 to 57 m², sleeping up to six
  • SPA KOS: heated indoor/outdoor pool facing the Dômes de Miage, three jacuzzis
  • Village ski lifts connect to the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area

Granite, oak and a street-art garage

Outside, the building is traditional: granite frames the windows and the roof is of tavaillon wood. Inside, the MICHELIN Guide notes the contrast between furniture of modernist inspiration and a setting of oak timber and parquet floors. Each room is decorated differently and each bathroom uses a different marble, while the indoor garage has been decorated by the street artists Irsut & Zoer.

A village balcony facing Mont-Blanc

The hotel's address is 4088 Route de Saint-Nicolas, in the village of Saint-Nicolas de Véroce on the heights of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, and Geneva airport is 1 hour 15 minutes away.

The village is linked by ski lifts to the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which the MICHELIN Guide describes as vast. The spa describes its view across the Mont-Blanc range and the Dômes de Miage as uninterrupted.

From balcony doubles to a duplex for six

The Chambres Mont Joly measure 25 m² for two guests, with a double bed or twin beds, a walk-in shower and a balcony. The Chambres Saint-Nicolas add five square metres, a bathtub alongside the walk-in shower and a view of the Dômes de Miage, again with a balcony. Both have an espresso and tea machine, Toto toilets, a minibar, a flat-screen television with free video on demand, a Bluetooth speaker, a safe and air conditioning, and a baby bed is available.

Two junior suite categories also sleep two. The 41 m² Junior Suite has a mansard bedroom with exposed beams, a separate sitting area, a walk-in shower, a balcony and a view of the traditional chalets of Saint-Nicolas. The 40 m² Junior Suite Mont-Blanc adds a bathtub to the walk-in shower, and its balcony faces the Dômes de Miage.

The 37 m² Chambres familiales come in two versions: for three, with a double or twin bedroom, a single bedroom, a bathroom with walk-in shower and bathtub, and a balcony over the mountains or the village; and for four, with a second bedroom of bunk beds and a balcony with a mountain view. The 47 m² duplexes have high ceilings and curtains made by artisans: the three-person duplex adds wood panelling and a duplex bedroom with a single bed, while the four-person duplexes spread over two levels under exposed beams, with a second shower room upstairs. The 57 m² duplex for six has three bedrooms, two shower rooms with walk-in showers and a village view.

The Suites Mont-Blanc stand apart, in a Savoyard chalet opposite the hotel, each with a private entrance and a private terrace with a mountain view. They measure 55 m² and sleep four, with a double or twin bedroom, a second bedroom with two single beds, a sitting area, a shower room and a bathroom with a bathtub, and their equipment includes a magnifying mirror, an espresso and tea machine, a minibar, a safe and air conditioning. The hotel also has a chalet with a dormitory dedicated to children.

A starred table and a terrace bistrot

La Table d'Armante is the hotel's gastronomic restaurant, where chef Thomas Vonderscher gives the best Alpine produce a contemporary interpretation. Born in Alsace and raised in French Polynesia, the chef developed an early taste for elsewhere, the restaurant says. He won a first Michelin star in 2019 and another in 2023 at La Gouesnière, near Saint-Malo, and La Table d'Armante has now been awarded a star of its own.

The restaurant serves lunch and dinner on Monday and Tuesday, dinner only on Friday and Saturday, and lunch only on Sunday. Breakfast is also served there, from 07:00 to 10:00, or in the room from 07:30 to 10:30.

A few steps from the hotel, the bistrot Le Mont Joly serves traditional, family-style cooking with Alpine flavours. Its vast terrace looks out over the Dômes de Miage, Mont Vorassay and the Aiguille de Bionnassay, and upstairs a lounge with billiards, a fireplace and its own terrace can be booked for private use. The bar is set in Le Mont Joly's warm lounge, where an evening can begin with a glass of wine recommended by the sommelier or a cocktail made by the bartender. Le Mont Joly opens from 13 May to 1 November 2026, for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday.

The Boulangerie et salon de thé, built on the site of the former village bakery, is a meeting place for breakfast, quick meals, afternoon tea and snacks. Its tea room opens from 08:00 to 16:00 and closes on Wednesdays and Thursdays; in summer 2026, from 26 June to 16 September, it opened every day from 07:30 to 18:00.

SPA KOS, with the Dômes de Miage in view

SPA KOS is open every day from 08:00 to 20:00 and opens onto a heated indoor/outdoor pool facing the Dômes de Miage. On the solarium terrace, sun loungers line the pool beside two outdoor jacuzzis, and the spa also has an indoor overflow jacuzzi, a hammam, a sauna and a relaxation room.

Its two treatment rooms use KOS Paris, a brand whose formulas are 98% natural, with organic active ingredients such as prickly pear seed oil, açaí berries and babassu butter. Practitioners offer face, body and nail treatments, massages, rituals, Day Spa sessions and hair removal every day from 10:00 to 20:00, by reservation. The Technogym fitness room is open around the clock, and a coach is available on request.

Farms, flights and the Mer de Glace

The concierge organises activities and excursions, from sleigh rides to tennis. In winter the list includes skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe hikes, sledging, dog sledding and igloo building; in summer, canyoning, rafting, mountaineering, climbing and via ferrata, a ropes course, mini-golf, tennis on clay courts, yoga and meditation, hiking, mountain biking on standard or electric bikes and gourmet outings to mountain refuges. Local guides lead hikes adapted to guests' abilities, and golf can be arranged at the Domaine du Mont d'Arbois, an 18-hole course at an altitude of 1,320 metres overlooking the village of Megève, which the hotel calls the oldest mountain golf course, with a view from the Mont Joly to the Aravis range.

Other outings run all year: the Aiguille du Midi, which the hotel calls the highest cable car in France (from age 5); the Montenvers cogwheel train, which climbs from Chamonix at 1,035 metres to Montenvers station at 1,913 metres to see the Mer de Glace; paragliding (from age 5 or 6); flights over the Mont-Blanc massif by plane or helicopter, including a first helicopter flight from age 7; and a hot-air balloon flight from Praz sur Arly, also from age 7. Farm visits, the Saint-Gervais thermal springs, horse-drawn carriage rides and museum visits complete the year-round list.

The farm visits include the Ferme de Véroce, a mountain dairy farm where visitors watch Abondance cows and learn how tomme is made; the Ferme des Roches Fleuries, with its cows, goats, calves and rabbits; and the Chèvrerie Au Coeur de Montjoie, a goat farm in the Val Montjoie. There is also dog sledding on wheels at Notre Dame de la Gorge, supervised mountain-bike and electric-scooter rides from age 8, a ropes course from age 2 and via ferrata from age 13. Reception organises babysitting, childcare, games and ski lessons, and the hotel provides a baby cot, a toiletry kit, a pushchair and a baby monitor for the youngest.
