Five Seas Hôtel Cannes is a boutique hotel run with what it calls a family spirit, two to three minutes on foot from the Palais des Festivals and about seven from La Croisette. Its Deluxe Rooms take their cue from the tents of 19th-century explorers, with leather trunks and canopy beds, while the rooftop holds a 13-metre infinity pool and Le Roof, a restaurant and lounge bar looking over Cannes: a town-centre base on the Côte d'Azur.

Why it stands out

  • Rooftop infinity pool of 13 metres, kept at 28°C for hotel guests
  • Deluxe Rooms inspired by 19th-century explorers' tents, with trunks and canopy beds
  • Le Roof restaurant and lounge bar with views over Cannes
  • Jacuzzi Terrace Suite with a 38 m² terrace and glass-and-steel jacuzzi
  • Palais des Festivals about two to three minutes' walk away

Explorer themes, a house scent and green labels

The hotel describes itself as a boutique address driven by a family spirit, one that encourages close connections and real exchanges with guests. It is part of Inwood Hotels, and its own pages call it Five Seas by Inwood Hotels; the group has 13 hotels from Paris to the French Riviera, including Bordeaux and Arcachon. The décor is contemporary, built around custom-designed furniture, premium materials and artwork. The Deluxe Rooms reinterpret the tents of 19th-century explorers, and the meeting rooms carry the names of Jacques Cartier, Vasco Di Gama and David Livingstone; the Jacques Cartier room, 32 m² for up to 22 people, opens onto a 20 m² terrace.

The house has its own scent. Called Eau de Bois Secret, it was created by Solutions Parfum, whose workshops are in Grasse. It opens on tea, lemon and bergamot, moves to floral accords and cedarwood, and settles on musk and patchouli. Guests also find welcome gifts from Five Style Cosmetics in every room, alongside a complimentary minibar.

The hotel has also taken steps on sustainability. It received the EU Ecolabel in August 2025 and the Clef Verte, or Green Key, label in the same year. In the bathrooms, the toiletries come from Terre de Mars and are described as eco-friendly.

A short walk from the Palais des Festivals

The hotel stands at 1 Rue Notre Dame, in the centre of Cannes. The Palais des Festivals is two to three minutes away on foot and the beaches of La Croisette about seven, which puts the town's boutiques, restaurants and main sights within easy reach.

Arriving without a car is straightforward. Cannes train station is about four minutes' walk from the door, and bike paths run close by. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport lies around 30 km away, typically 30 to 40 minutes by car, and the hotel can arrange an airport shuttle, with rates given on request.

From explorer rooms to terrace suites

The Superior Room, 30 m² for two, has a king-size bed or twin beds, a walk-in wardrobe, a Nespresso machine and a bathroom with shower or bathtub; layouts and decoration vary from one room to the next. The Deluxe Room, 30 to 32 m² for two, carries the explorer theme: leather trunks, deep armchairs, artwork and a canopy bed, plus a walk-in wardrobe finished with saddle stitching and red leather handles.

The Executive Room steps up to 35 to 40 m² and sleeps up to three. It adds a reading nook, and some rooms look out over the city or towards the Notre Dame de Bon Voyage church. The Junior Suite, 40 to 48 m² for up to three, continues the travelling mood with globes and finely painted and embroidered objects alongside the trunks and armchairs. The Five Style Suite, 45 to 60 m² for up to four, has a separate living room, large leather trunks and books on design and architecture; some open onto a terrace facing the church.

Two suites stand apart. The Panoramic Terrace Suite, 40 m² for two, sits on the top floor and can only be reached by a secret staircase. Its bedroom opens onto a living area, a private terrace completes the suite, and the shower has a glass ceiling that looks up at the starry sky. The Jacuzzi Terrace Suite, 73 m² with views of the Notre Dame de Bon Voyage church, sleeps up to four in two bedrooms, with a living area, two bathrooms, a shower room and a private 38 m² terrace with a glass-and-steel jacuzzi.

Every room has reversible air conditioning, a safe, a coffee machine and kettle, bathrobes and slippers, and access to a guest app. The suites add a clothes steamer, a yoga mat and a shoe-cleaning kit with shoe trees.

Le Roof, above the rooftops of Cannes

Le Roof, the restaurant and lounge bar at the top of the building, is open to hotel guests and outside visitors alike, and the hotel describes it as a verdant secret garden thick with greenery. Head Chef Lori Moreau oversees both breakfast and the restaurant. She trained at the École Grégoire-Ferrandi and under the starred chef Alain Pegouret, and her cooking here is described as contemporary and plant-based, served with views over Le Suquet.

The day begins with a buffet breakfast. Lunch runs from 12:00 to 18:00, and the summer menu is light and colourful, with dishes such as gravlax-style salmon with beetroot, radish shavings and a mustard-seed and honey condiment. Dinner, from 19:00 to 22:00, revisits French classics; in summer the evening menu turns to seasonal bistronomic cooking, served against the lights of the town. Menus change with the four seasons and rely on fresh produce.

On Sundays, brunch brings organic eggs cooked to order, avocado toast, brioche French toast and truffled cheese toasties, drawing on the best products of local farmers and artisans. The Lounge Bar is open from 11:00 to 00:30 for cocktails, and its summer finger-food menu is built for sharing, with Mediterranean and Italian leanings: tzatziki with wheat and rye pita, crisp prawns with mint, calamari fried and served with saffron rouille, Sicilian arancini and pizzetta. Le Roof also hosts DJ evenings, and its spaces can be taken over for private events. In-room dining runs around the clock, at extra charge, from a menu written by Lori Moreau.

A heated pool and a Sothys spa

Up on the roof, the infinity pool measures 13 metres and is heated to 28°C, which the hotel says lets guests swim through much of the year while looking over the rooftops of Cannes. Swimming is reserved for hotel guests, and loungers edge the pool terrace.

The Spa by Sothys has four treatment rooms, two saunas and a hammam, and offers treatments and massages. It opens every day from 10:00 to 20:00 between May and September and from 10:00 to 19:00 between October and April, although it operates seasonally and may close for part of the winter. Overnight guests may use the sauna at no charge, though it must be booked.

The fitness room is open 24 hours a day and fitted with top-of-the-line equipment, and a specialist coach is available on request.

Concierge, beach club and days afloat

The concierge desk is a Clefs d'Or service, led by Romain, who has been a member of Les Clefs d'Or, the union of hotel concierges, for more than two years. Through the concierge, guests can book a personal shopper for tailor-made shopping in central Cannes. For the sea, the hotel works with the partner beach club Plage du Festival, with details at reception, and private yacht rental can be arranged. A private golf buggy is also available for getting around Cannes.

For families, the hotel provides highchairs, changing tables and bottle warmers, baby cots are available on request, and babysitting can be arranged. Certain suites sleep three or four guests, depending on the category. Reception is staffed 24 hours a day, and there is a luggage storage service and a lift.

Before you book

  • Parking with valet service is available to hotel guests, and a space in the hotel's secure car park must be reserved.
  • Pets are accepted on request, subject to a charge.
  • Baby cots cannot be placed in Superior Rooms or the Panoramic Terrace Suite.
  • The Executive Room category is accessible to guests with reduced mobility.
  • The hotel closes temporarily during the winter period.
