A listed bastide with contemporary art
The bastide has been listed as a monument historique since 1963, and its main building keeps ornately figured mouldings and carved stone fireplaces. Beside it stand traditional longères, rural outbuildings given a modern Provençal style. The property is owned by Didier Blaise, and it serves as a residence for artists, with regular exhibitions and works by contemporary artists, notably Philippe Pasqua.
Designer Olivier Frémont decorated the rooms and suites. The decor is minimalist, with high-end contemporary furniture and subtly high-tech comforts.
From bastide suites to vineyard duplexes
The largest spaces sit in the bastide. The Suite Mademoiselle, at 66 m², looks over the French gardens and pairs a king-size bed with a separate living room holding a double sofa bed, sleeping up to four; its bathroom has both bathtub and shower. The Suite Prestige, 38 to 40 m² with the same garden view, has a separate living room and a shower room for two.
In the longères, the Suite Duplex (60 to 73 m²) places a living room on the ground floor and a king-size bedroom upstairs, with views of the bastide or vineyards. The Suite Familiale, 72 m², has two king-size bedrooms, a large dressing room and two bathrooms, each with shower and bathtub, overlooking the bastide and patio for up to four. The Suite Jardin, 45 to 60 m² and 800 m from reception, has private outdoor spaces and a hushed baroque interior of handmade tapestries, modern lighting and colourful furniture.
Chambre Deluxe rooms, 35 to 40 m², face the vineyards and have king-size beds and showers; some lie up to 800 m from reception. The Chambre Classique measures 22 to 30 m² with a king-size bed, and one is adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
