On Paris's Rue de la Paix, steps from Place Vendôme, Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme stands behind a Haussmann-style façade classified as a historic monument, in a building that was a haute couture address before it became a hotel. Inside, the interior designer Ed Tuttle combined French classicism with contemporary design in beige limestone and dark mahogany. The hotel also has a Michelin-starred restaurant, PUR', and its own spa.

Why it stands out

  • Steps from Place Vendôme on Rue de la Paix
  • PUR', Jean-François Rouquette's one-Michelin-star restaurant designed by Hugo Toro
  • SEOK, the first Parisian restaurant of chef Mingoo Kang
  • Suites with in-suite hammams, fireplaces and balconies overlooking the Vendôme column
  • A 250 m² spa with sauna, hammam and La Mer treatments

From couture house to contemporary hotel

The building has a longer life than the hotel. In the early 20th century it housed a haute couture establishment used by the Paquin family, and its Haussmann-style façade is today classified as a historic monument. The Michelin Guide describes the hotel as a row of discreetly converted Haussmann-style office blocks, marked only by a small sign.

It opened as a Hyatt hotel in 2002, and Hyatt bought the building in 2006. The hotel presents itself as a contemporary house on Place Vendôme where art blends with French classicism, and the interiors follow that line. Ed Tuttle, the interior designer, combined classical French references with contemporary design, drawing on the history of the building itself.

The Michelin Guide calls the result a vision in beige limestone and dark mahogany, with a black-and-tan palette that evokes a subtle Zen atmosphere. PUR', the hotel's signature restaurant, has been transformed to designs by the artist-architect Hugo Toro.

Rue de la Paix and Place Vendôme

The hotel stands at 5 Rue de la Paix, in the 2nd arrondissement, just steps from Place Vendôme, which the Forbes Travel Guide calls one of the city's most beautiful squares. The Palais Garnier is 0.37 miles away and the Louvre 0.65 miles.

The Forbes Travel Guide places many of the city's must-sees within walking distance, among them the Tuileries Garden, the Louvre, the Opéra Garnier and the Champs-Élysées, and notes that the Faubourg Saint-Honoré, with designer houses such as Hermès, Lanvin and Givenchy, is a short stroll away. Le Marais is 1.46 miles from the hotel and the Eiffel Tower 1.78 miles.

Limestone bathrooms and suites with hammams

The Park King rooms all measure 322 sq ft and differ by outlook. The Park King Room faces the courtyard, with a king bed or twins on request; the version with Rue de la Paix view looks onto the historic street; and the Park King Room with Balcony adds a private balcony over courtyard or street. At 376 sq ft, the Deluxe King Room gives a little more space and a city or courtyard view. All four have limestone bathrooms with heated floors, a deep soaking tub and a separate rain shower, stocked with exclusive products from Blaise Mautin.

The first suites introduce a separate living area and a walk-in closet. The Park Suite is 484 sq ft and the Park Deluxe Suite 484 to 592 sq ft, both with king beds and city or courtyard views. The Executive Suite with Rue de la Paix View, at 538 sq ft, looks over Rue de la Paix and Place Vendôme, while the Executive Suite, 538 to 645 sq ft, has two bathrooms and faces the courtyard or terrace. The Prestige Suite, 592 to 645 sq ft, also has two bathrooms, with views of Rue de la Paix and Place Vendôme or of the terrace. The Family Suite joins two connecting rooms, with one king and two twin beds and two bathrooms, across 602 to 753 sq ft.

Larger parties can link rooms, at an extra charge and subject to availability: a connecting Park Room turns the Prestige, Diplomatic or Ambassador suites into two-bedroom suites, and a Deluxe Room and a Park Room turn the Residence Suite, which has a kitchenette, into a three-bedroom suite. The Diplomatic Suite has a dining table in its living room; the Two-Bedroom Suite sleeps up to five above Rue de la Paix; the Three-Bedroom Suite sleeps up to eight and overlooks the courtyard. The Ambassador Suite, at 1291 sq ft, has a fireplace, a study and library, and a wine cellar.

L'Appartement and the Presidential, Vendôme and Impériale suites each have a hammam of their own. L'Appartement adds a full kitchen and a private gym. The Presidential Suite is a duplex with a six-metre-high entrance hall, two fireplaces and two balconies with views of the Eiffel Tower, the Vendôme column and Notre-Dame. The Vendôme Suite is on the fifth floor under a mansard roof, with a private 60 m² balcony overlooking Rue de la Paix and Place Vendôme, while the Impériale Suite on the second floor has an 85 m² living and dining room and a massage table.

A starred table, Korean cooking and a café

PUR' – Jean-François Rouquette is the hotel's gastronomic French restaurant, with one Michelin star and four toques from Gault&Millau. Rouquette's hand reaches across the hotel: at La Terrasse du Park his tapas accompany Mediterranean-inspired cocktails, and he directs room service, which runs 24 hours and brings breakfast, afternoon tea or dinner to the room.

SEOK is the first Parisian restaurant of Mingoo Kang, a chef with three Michelin stars, and serves authentic Korean cuisine from 17:30 to 22:00.

Café Jeanne, open daily from 07:00 until midnight, covers everything from breakfast to signature cocktails, with a single menu of gastronomic staples served until late at the bar, in the dining room, by the fireplace or on the terrace; every day from 14:00 to 19:00 it also serves the Goûter Glacé by Narae Kim. Le Chalet du Park, which reopens on 16 November 2026, serves refined winter menus by Rouquette at lunch and dinner.

A 250 m² spa in partnership with La Mer

The spa covers 250 m² and holds a sauna, a hammam, four treatment cabins, one of them for two, and a relaxation lounge. It works exclusively with La Mer cosmetics. Among its treatments, the Prickly Pear Candle Ritual is a 60-minute massage in which warm scented candle wax melts into silky oil, and the Regenerating Facial Treatment pairs advanced technology with expert skincare.

The fitness centre, inside the spa, is equipped by Technogym and stays open around the clock for hotel guests; outside guests with a subscription use it from 07:00 to 22:00. A personal trainer is available on request.

Families, pets and seasonal touches

Baby cribs and rollaway beds are available on request in most rooms, and L'Appartement adds children's toys on request. Guests taking L'Appartement also receive a round-trip airport transfer for up to four people and parking for one car. Pets are welcome for a daily fee and are given their own bed and welcome amenities, though they may not enter PUR' or the spa.

In summer, the Frozen Collection by Narae Kim pairs frozen pâtisserie with bespoke ceramic pieces in what the hotel describes as a multisensory experience. The Sleeper Capsule Collection is a loungewear capsule that the hotel presents as made for serene moments.
