The hotel at a glance.
Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin stands at the top of Courchevel 1850, one of the ski villages of the French Alps, with direct access to the piste. At its opening, the MICHELIN Guide presented it as the group's first winter resort. Tristan Auer drew on the resort's 1960s golden age for its interiors, setting timber, wool and stone against high-shine copper. The MICHELIN Guide has awarded it two Keys, its mark of an exceptional stay.
Why it stands out
- Direct access to the piste, with ski butlers and a full-service ski shop
- Tristan Auer interiors inspired by Courchevel's 1960s golden age
- SALTO, with an evening menu inspired by northern Italy's Alps and fondues on the terrace at lunch
- Asaya spa with a 17 m indoor heated pool
- Two-bedroom houses and a four-bedroom apartment with cinema room
The golden Alpine era, reimagined
Rosewood Courchevel holds a particular place in the group's history. At its opening, the MICHELIN Guide presented it as the first hotel the group had opened in a winter resort. For the interiors, Rosewood turned to Tristan Auer, who also worked on its Paris hotel; the MICHELIN Guide notes that his other hotel interiors include The Carlton Cannes, the Four Seasons Hotel George V and the Mandarin Oriental Savoy in Zurich.
Auer took the resort's 1960s golden age as his starting point, and the hotel calls the result a contemporary renaissance of the golden Alpine era. His materials are tactile: timber, wool and stone, set off by mirrored surfaces and copper with a high shine. According to the MICHELIN Guide, those touches bring a measure of glamour to rooms and suites it describes as warm and apartment-style, and his cosy chic style carries on through the public spaces.
At the top of Courchevel 1850
The hotel stands at 38 Sentier du Jardin Alpin, at the top of Courchevel 1850, a village the hotel describes as exclusive. Its position gives it direct access to the piste, so a day's skiing can begin at the hotel.
Courchevel Altiport, 5 km away, takes helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, and helicopter transfers can be arranged on request. The other airports the hotel lists are Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc at 110 km, Geneva at 180 km and Lyon-Saint Exupéry at 185 km. Taxis, premium hire cars and chauffeured vehicles are available at all the major airports, and the concierge team can book a chauffeured car ahead of arrival.
Of the main rail stations, Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains is 24 km from the hotel, Albertville 50 km and Chambéry-Challes-les-Eaux 100 km.

SALTO: northern Italian evenings and fondue at lunch
SALTO, the restaurant at the centre of the property, looks out over sweeping alpine views. In the evening its menu draws on the cuisine of the Alps of northern Italy, served with a selection of fine wines in what the hotel describes as a sophisticated atmosphere. At lunch, the panoramic terrace overlooking the slopes serves traditional classics such as the signature fondues.
SALTO Lounge works across the day: lunch brings a generous choice of mountain dishes, après-ski comes with an in-house DJ, and as the day ends there is a nightcap by the fireplace and a dining menu. In-Room Dining is available at any hour, with local flavours, international favourites and a menu focused on wellbeing.
Asaya spa and a ceramic-lined pool
Asaya is Rosewood's integrative wellness concept, and here it has five treatment rooms and a treatment suite with its own hot tub, alongside two saunas, steam rooms, a hot tub, a cold plunge and a multi-sensory experience shower. The indoor heated pool is 17 m long, with bespoke ceramic interiors inspired by the snow-dusted mountain views outside. The menu includes signature treatments inspired by alpine wellness practices as well as EviDenS de Beauté and Sodashi treatments, and the fitness suite is fitted with Technogym equipment.
The hotel presents the spa both as a refuge for tired skiers and as a place to unwind before the evening. An adults-only lounge is set aside for quiet contemplation, while a dedicated family spa lets parents relax with their children. Visitors not staying at the hotel can book treatments daily from 10:00 to 15:00, and booking is essential.
Ski butlers, children's cavern and concierge
For skiing, the hotel has ski butlers and a full-service ski shop. Children have a bespoke cavern of their own among the wellness facilities, complete with an interactive fountain, and the hotel plans surprises, activities and family moments for young guests during their stay.
The concierge team can arrange chauffeured cars, and valet parking is available for guests who arrive by car.
