Five-star hotels near Disneyland Paris, in Chessy
Most of Disneyland Paris stands on the territory of Chessy, a commune on the left bank of the Marne about 30 km east of central Paris, which counted only 760 inhabitants in 1982. Among the hotels near Disneyland Paris, the Atout France register of France's five-star hotels gives Chessy 1 entry: the Disneyland Hotel, standing above the entrance gates of Disneyland Park itself.

Hotels near Disneyland Paris: what this page covers
Around the resort, the Atout France register lists hotels and holiday residences in Chessy and the neighbouring communes of Val d'Europe, from Disney's own hotels to international chains. This page is narrower, because Hotel5only lists only hotels officially classified five stars. The Disneyland Hotel is the only one in Chessy and, in fact, the only five-star hotel in the whole Seine-et-Marne department.
For context, Disney's five other hotels on the resort are classified between two and four stars in the same register, and Disney Davy Crockett Ranch, in woodland outside the resort perimeter, is classified as a holiday park. Most of the Disney hotels stand around or near Lake Disney, and free shuttle buses link them with the station by the parks. The Disneyland Hotel differs in position as much as in rating: it stands at the gates of Disneyland Park, with a dedicated entrance to the park.
Chessy: from a Brie village to Disney's commune
Chessy sits on a plateau about 100 m above sea level, overlooking the Marne valley, in the west of the Brie, and its name comes from a personal name derived from the Latin caseus, cheese. Farmers occupied the plateau from around 450 BC. The old village keeps the church of Saint-Nicolas, rebuilt in 1743, and the ice house of its 18th-century château, dated 1773 and still visible in a public park.
In 1987 Chessy joined the fourth sector of the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, Val d'Europe, and in 1992 the Disneyland theme park opened on what had been farmland. The population, 760 in 1982, reached 7,771 in 2023. The château now houses the headquarters of Val d'Europe Agglomération, the grouping of local communes, and the old village lies about 5 km from the station at the parks. By the river, the Jardin de Sculptures de la Dhuys, created in 1987 by Jacques Servières, and the Marne riverside walk show a quieter Chessy.
Two parks and Disney Village
Disneyland Paris opened on 12 April 1992 as the Euro Disney Resort, about 32 km east of central Paris. It now spans two theme parks, Disney hotels, convention centres, a golf course and an entertainment district, and Disney describes it as Europe's number one tourist destination. The second park opened on 16 March 2002 as Walt Disney Studios Park and was renamed Disney Adventure World on 29 March 2026, when its World of Frozen land opened. That land recreates the kingdom of Arendelle beneath a 36 m North Mountain crowned by Elsa's Ice Palace, with the boat ride Frozen Ever After, and the new Adventure Way promenade leads to Adventure Bay, a lake that hosts the night-time show Disney Cascade of Lights.
Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy station lies between the parks and Disney Village, the entertainment district designed by Frank Gehry, which opened with the resort as Festival Disney and took its present name in 1996. It gathers themed restaurants, bars, shops and a Gaumont cinema with an IMAX screen, and the PanoraMagique tethered balloon lifts up to 30 passengers 100 m into the air. Disney lists live music, DJ sets and karaoke there from Thursday to Saturday.
The Disneyland Hotel, at the gates of Disneyland Park
The Disneyland Hotel opened with the resort in April 1992. It stands above the entrance gates and ticket booths of Disneyland Park, between Main Street, U.S.A. and Fantasia Gardens, and its architecture refers to Victorian American hotels such as the Hotel del Coronado. Closed in March 2020 with the rest of the resort, it did not reopen but was rebuilt inside, keeping its structural walls and pink façade, and it reopened on 25 January 2024 with a theme of royal Disney stories.
The Atout France register lists 487 rooms and a five-star classification dated 16 February 2024, at Rue de la Marnière. Deluxe rooms come with a dedicated check-in and a lounge overlooking Fantasia Gardens. The Castle Club, a hotel within the hotel on the top two floors of the central wing, adds a lounge with a view of Sleeping Beauty Castle, breakfast with Disney princess characters and a private lift to Disneyland Park. The suites are themed on Disney films: the Princely Suite follows the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast, and the Royal Suite, inspired by Frozen, has a balcony over the park and is the grandest in the hotel. The Disneyland Hotel does not hold France's separate Palace distinction, which our guide to Palace hotels in France explains.
Dining, spa and children at the Disneyland Hotel
Royal Banquet serves a buffet in a hall themed on royal Disney families, where Mickey, Minnie and their friends may join diners at lunch and dinner in their regal best. La Table de Lumière, inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, offers table service with Disney princesses. La Forêt Secrète par Jean Imbert is a fine-dining room in a forest setting with menus by the chef; Disney presents it as the first restaurant at the resort led by a MICHELIN-starred chef, and Imbert created a children's menu for it, a first in his career. The Fleur de Lys Bar serves cocktails, mocktails, snacks and afternoon tea.
The hotel has a swimming pool, a sauna, a fitness suite and a meditation and yoga space, and a spa offering massages, manicures and pedicures, as well as treatments designed for children aged 6 and over and provided by Snow Paris. Children aged 4 to 11 can join free day care for up to two hours a day, depending on availability, and the paid My Royal Dream experience turns a child into a princess or prince for the day, with hair, make-up and costume. Character encounters must be booked in advance, which the Disneyland Paris app handles along with restaurant tables.
Val d'Europe: the planned town next door
Val d'Europe is the easternmost sector of the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, about 35 km east of central Paris, built under a 1987 convention between The Walt Disney Company and the French state. Five communes form its historical territory: Bailly-Romainvilliers, Chessy, Coupvray, Magny-le-Hongre and Serris. The town plan, by the New York firm Cooper, Robertson & Partners, follows traditional French town-planning principles, and the architecture draws on the Haussmann style of 19th-century Paris.
For visitors, Val d'Europe matters mostly for shopping. Its own RER A station, Val d'Europe, serves the Val d'Europe shopping centre, which opened in 2000 and has 190 shops, 30 restaurants and a SEA LIFE aquarium, and La Vallée Village, an outlet centre of major brands.
Getting to Chessy: RER A, TGV and the airport shuttles
Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy station combines the end of RER A with a high-speed TGV station opened in 1994, and it lies a two-minute walk from the park entrances. TGVs connect it directly with cities such as Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Nantes, Rennes and Strasbourg, and with Brussels. The Magical Shuttle coach, an authorised carrier for Disneyland Paris since 1992, runs daily from Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports and stops outside the main entrance of the Disneyland Hotel.
Travellers from London should note that Eurostar's direct trains from the UK to the station were suspended in June 2023; Eurostar sells tickets with a connection at Lille-Europe. By car, exit 14 of the A4 motorway serves Val d'Europe and the Disney parks, and the hotel's car park is reserved for its guests, with free parking and a valet service.

Practical points for a five-star stay at the resort
On arrival, guests receive a MagicPass card that holds their park tickets, meal-plan vouchers and room key, and Extra Magic Time lets them enter one or both parks before official opening; Disney publishes the details up to three months ahead and they can change. The Disneyland Hotel has a concierge and a free luggage service. Note that Magical Bag Check, which carries luggage between the Paris airports and Disney hotels for some Air France and KLM passengers, excludes the Disneyland Hotel.
The climate is an altered oceanic one, with an average annual temperature of 12.1 °C over 1991 to 2020 at the nearest Météo-France station, in Torcy, rainfall spread through the year and cold winters.
Beyond the resort: Paris, Versailles and Champagne
The RER A runs from the station straight through Paris, by way of Gare de Lyon and on to La Défense, so a trip can be split between the parks and the city; our Paris page covers the capital's five-star hotels and Palaces. Versailles, southwest of Paris, pairs the château with five-star hotels of its own. To the east, Ouigo high-speed trains from Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy call at Champagne-Ardenne on the way to Strasbourg, the direction of Champillon, a village surrounded by Champagne vineyards on the road between Épernay and Reims.

How long does the train take from Paris to Disneyland Paris?
About 35 to 40 minutes on the RER A: Disney gives about 40 minutes from Châtelet and about 35 minutes from Nation. The trains end at Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, a two-minute walk from the entrances of Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World.
How do you get from Charles de Gaulle Airport to the Disneyland Hotel?
Take a TGV from the airport to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, which Disney says takes less than 12 minutes, then walk to the hotel. Alternatively, book the Magical Shuttle coach, which runs daily from Charles de Gaulle and Orly and stops outside the hotel's main entrance.
Can you take the Eurostar from London to Disneyland Paris?
Not directly at present. Eurostar's direct services from the UK to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy were suspended in June 2023 and have not resumed; Eurostar sells tickets with a connection at Lille-Europe, from where TGVs run to the station.
Is Chessy the same place as Marne-la-Vallée?
Not exactly. Marne-la-Vallée is a new town east of Paris divided into sectors, and Chessy is one of the communes of its fourth sector, Val d'Europe. Most of Disneyland Paris lies in Chessy, and the station at the parks is named Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, but several Disney hotels stand in neighbouring Coupvray.
Are there other five-star hotels near Disneyland Paris?
Not in the immediate area. In the Atout France register, the Disneyland Hotel is the only five-star hotel in Chessy and in the whole Seine-et-Marne department. The nearest alternatives are in Paris, reached directly on the RER A; see our Paris page.
